I scoured the internet for longer than I would care to admit, looking for a good, classic tasting pie crust recipe, that was low in carbs. After taking my favorite parts out of a couple of different recipes, this recipe came out perfectly!
I scoured the internet for longer than I would care to admit, looking for a good, classic tasting pie crust recipe, that was low in carbs. After taking my favorite parts out of a couple of different recipes, this recipe came out perfectly!
Mix all the dry ingredients. Add the butter, cut into pieces
Using a fork, and then your hands, combine the dry ingredient with the butter
Add water and mix until well combined
Place the dough on plastic wrap and flatten into a rough pie plate shape with your hands
Place in fridge for about 30 minutes
Preheat oven to 350°F
Place the dough into a pie pan and press up the sides using your fingers to create a crust shape
Place parchment paper on top of the crust and use ceramic baking beans to hold dough down.
Bake in oven for 18-20 minutes
Remove from oven. Remove baking paper and ceramic beans. If center of pie seems moist, place back into oven (off) just to dry out
Store in an airtight container and keep at room temperature.
